Cleaning tools
Rename, change type, trim spaces, change case, fill blanks, fill down, find and replace, split and merge columns, remove duplicates, filter rows, round and number formats.
Excel-style formulas
Type =G2*H2, =SUM(A2:A20) or =IF(...) straight into a cell, click cells to add them, then drag or double-click the fill handle to copy it down. Calculated columns and more than 100 functions with Sheet Studio's own names, such as FETCH, SUM.WHERE and SAFE, plus ones Excel does not have: FETCH.FUZZY finds the closest match, WORDS writes amounts in lakh and crore, FISCAL.YEAR, EXTRACT.NUMBER and IS.GSTIN. Excel names such as XLOOKUP and SUMIFS work too.
Data model and combining tables
Sheets are linked by their key fields automatically and shown as a diagram you can edit, so a filter on one sheet narrows the others and charts can use fields from linked sheets. You can also look up values, join, stack, summarise or unpivot tables.
Free-form dashboards
A dashboard is built as soon as you open a file: a heading and charts for each sheet, then the sheets compared. Drag charts to move them, drag a corner to resize, open any chart in a large view, and add text blocks. Each dashboard can have its own colours.

Column, bar, stacked, 100% stacked, line, area, combo, waterfall, pie, donut, treemap, funnel, scatter, bubble, heat map, radar, histogram, box plot, world map, gauge, number cards and tables.
Fields list and quick charts

Filters, selection and drill-down
Filters for one chart, one dashboard or every dashboard. Click a bar to highlight it in every other chart; click a date to drill from year to quarter, month and day. Save a view and play through saved views.
Measures
Named calculations such as margin %, year to date or share of total, written with functions such as SUM, DIVIDE, SUMIF, YTD and PCTOFALL, and reused in any chart.
Trend lines and forecasts
Linear, polynomial, exponential and moving-average trend lines with R². Forecasts using linear trend, Holt or seasonal Holt-Winters, with a likely range.
What drives a number
Pick any number, such as revenue or profit, and see which columns move it most, ranked by how much of its variation each explains, with a plain sentence for each and a chart one click away. RSAI uses it too when it builds your dashboard.
Segments
Rows that are alike are grouped automatically, such as big orders with a low margin, with the size and averages of each group. Save the groups as a column to filter, pivot and chart by them.
Analysis
Summary statistics, correlation matrix, distributions, outlier checks, a regression tool and written findings calculated from your data, including one under any chart.
Pivot and reconcile
Pivot with two row fields, several values, % of total, subtotals, top N and filters, and click any number to see its rows. Reconcile two sources row by row or as consolidated totals per key, open any key to see both sides, then save the result or turn it into a dashboard.
Refresh from a new file
Replace a table with this month's file and the cleaning steps you recorded are applied again, so the dashboards update.
Share and present
Share a dashboard as a QR code, a short code or a file, with or without the data. Present dashboards full screen and move between them with the arrow keys.

Limits, stated plainly
How big can my file be?
Sheet Studio works inside your browser, so the limit is your computer's memory rather than an upload cap. On a typical laptop, CSV files of several hundred megabytes (around 1 to 2 million rows) and Excel files up to about 150 MB work well. Files are read in the background so the page stays responsive.
Old .xls and .xlsb files, OpenDocument sheets and Apple Numbers files open too, as do JSON, XML, Parquet and SQLite.
Your spreadsheet contents are processed in your browser and are not sent to our servers. Only your account details and credit balance are stored by us.

Frequently asked
Is my data uploaded?
No. Files are opened and processed in your browser tab. We store your account, credit balance and activity history, not your spreadsheets.
What uses a credit?
Downloading a report or data file: PDF, Word, Excel or CSV, including a dashboard as a PDF. Building dashboards, cleaning, editing, analysing, reconciling, sharing and PNG images do not use credits.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits from packs, coupons and sign-up stay in your account for as long as it is open.
How do I keep my work?
Use "Save project" to download a project file. You can protect it with a password; it is then encrypted so that only someone with the password can open it. Sheet Studio also keeps a copy in your browser so a refresh does not lose your work; you can turn that off.
Which browsers work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a computer. Phones work for viewing but a larger screen is better for editing.
