How big can my file be?
Sheet Studio works inside your browser, so the limit is your computer's memory rather than an upload cap. On a typical laptop, CSV files of several hundred megabytes (around 1–2 million rows) and Excel files up to about 150 MB work well. Files are read in the background so the page stays responsive.
Old .xls files are not supported. Open them in Excel and save as .xlsx first.
Your spreadsheet contents are processed in your browser and are not sent to our servers. Only your account details and credit balance are stored by us.

Is my data uploaded?
No. Files are opened and processed in your browser tab. We store your account, credit balance and activity history, not your spreadsheets.
What uses a credit?
Downloading a report or data file: PDF, Word, Excel or CSV. Building dashboards, cleaning, editing, analysing, reconciling and PNG chart images do not use credits.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits from packs, coupons and sign-up stay in your account for as long as it is open.
How do I keep my work?
Use "Save project" to download a project file. You can protect it with a password; it is then encrypted with AES-256. Sheet Studio also keeps a copy in your browser so a refresh does not lose your work; you can turn that off.
Which browsers work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a computer. Phones work for viewing but a larger screen is better for editing.
